The opportunity
An established main contractor with a strong London pipeline across residential and mixed-use schemes is appointing a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial function on a flagship project. This is a permanent role with clear progression toward Managing QS.
The role
- Own the commercial position of the project from procurement through to final account
- Prepare and agree valuations, variations, cost reports and cash-flow forecasts
- Manage subcontract procurement, packages, payments and final accounts
- Administer the contract (JCT / NEC) and manage commercial risk and change
- Mentor assistant and intermediate surveyors within the team
What we are looking for
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (RICS-accredited preferred)
- Significant main-contractor QS experience on projects of comparable value
- Strong working knowledge of JCT and NEC forms of contract
- Commercially astute, numerate and confident leading client and supply-chain negotiations
- MRICS or working towards chartership desirable
Package
£60,000 to £75,000 plus car allowance, bonus, pension and chartership support. Visible route to Managing Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Manager.
